Description

A stoneware mixing or serving bowl in a soft sage, celadon green glaze. A raised band around the body shows grapes, leaves, and an apple, picked out in a warmer tan, with a dotted line below and a brown edge along the rim.

The bowl stands about 4½ inches tall. The wide rim and rounded body suit mixing, salad, or fruit, and the fruit relief gives it a farmhouse look on a shelf.

The maker is not marked. This style of embossed grape and fruit stoneware was made by several companies, including Portuguese and American potteries. Please see the photos for the exact size and condition.
