Description
This is a Series 1963 A United States five-dollar Federal Reserve Note from Chicago, presented face and back in a clear collector sleeve. The face features Lincoln’s classic small portrait, the black G Federal Reserve seal for Chicago, district numeral 7 in the corners, and the green Treasury seal over the large word FIVE. Serial number G 99225409 A appears in green at upper right and lower left.
Series 1963 A is printed near the portrait area. The note shows the signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan as Treasurer of the United States and Henry H. Fowler as Secretary of the Treasury, the standard pairing collectors look for on this series. The reverse is the traditional Lincoln Memorial design with The United States of America arched above, In God We Trust, and Five Dollars in the period’s engraved green ink and scrollwork borders.
Condition in the photos looks excellent for a vintage note: bright paper, sharp corners, and no obvious heavy folds, creases, or tears. The protective sleeve keeps the bill flat and display-ready while still allowing both sides to be photographed clearly. A solid early-1960s Chicago Lincoln note with clear series, district, serial, and signature details, great for filling a Series 1963 A slot or starting a small Federal Reserve type set.
