Here is a Series 1950 D United States five-dollar Federal Reserve Note from the Chicago district, sleeved for protection and display. Lincoln’s oval portrait sits at center with the black G Federal Reserve seal at left and the green Treasury seal at right. District 7 numerals mark Chicago. Serial number G 26399970 E is printed in green in the usual positions on the face.

Series 1950 D is clearly indicated beside the portrait. The note bears the signatures of Elizabeth Rudel Smith and C. Douglas Dillon. This older series still carries the classic obligation language along the bottom, “Will Pay to the Bearer on Demand Five Dollars,” wording collectors associate with mid-century notes before later legal-tender phrasing changes. The reverse shows the engraved Lincoln Memorial with ornate corner numerals and traditional green scrollwork borders.
